CRY ME A RIO!

A lot of athletes at the Olympics are getting emotional at the success he/she or they have achieved in their respective events.

I've not noticed a number of men shedding a tear on the podium or after winning a decisive victory in an event.

I recently saw French Pole Vaulter being BOOED on the podium for getting a SILVER medal, behind eventual winner THIAGO DA SILVA or BRAZIL. The Frenchman, RENAUD LAVILLENIE had apparently got upset after the medal ceremony and was caught in a photograph, being consoled by DA SILVA and former Pole Vault champion SERGEI BUBKA (UKRAINE)

LAVILLENIE was the villain of the pole vault, getting booed by a Partizan Brazilian crowd supporting DA SILVA who surprised everyone by clearing a height of 6 metres and 3 centimetres.
Or was LAVILLENIE crying because the game was rigged ? what made the world leader in POLE VAULT lose to a local athlete ?

In tune with the heading, there was a song called CRY ME A RIVER released in 1953 which was 63 years ago.

A subtle reference to RIO which means RIVER in hispanic languages.

The song was sung by JULIE LONDON, as well as by ELLA FITZGERALD who's mother later had a partner called JOSEPH DA SILVA, a Portuguese immigrant.

It is 99 years 3 months and 22 days from the birth of ELLA FITZGERALD and DAY of the OLYMPIC GAMES, the day that the MEN'S POLE VAULT took place in the OLYMPIC STADIUM where THIAGO BRAZ DA SILVA beat RENAUD LAVILLENIE to the GOLD MEDAL.

August 10th was the 223rd day of the year (normally the 222nd day (143 days left))

So a connection between CRY ME A RIVER, ELLA FITZGERALD and the MEN'S POLE VAULT.

RENAUD LAVILLENIE is just 35 days short of his 30th Birthday on 18th September (Sign of Virgo). This defeat came upon the 331st day of his 29th year on 15th August 2016.

"Renaud Lavillenie + France + Pole Vault + Silver Medal + Rio Olympics" in the English Ordinal (Standard) system equals 609
