"Based on provisional (150 Std/60 Pyth) results (114 Std/24 Pyth) from the investigation, it appears that there were plans to carry out attacks in Belgium," the federal prosecutor's office (264 Std/120 Pyth) said of the latest arrests in a statement.

But the statement added that as yet no link had been found to the Brussels bombings (196 Std/61 Pyth).

A judge would decide on Saturday (109 Std/28 Pyth) whether to keep the suspects in detention (106 Std/43 Pyth), it said.

Belgium is currently on security alert level three (288 Std/108 Pyth) out of four, indicating a "possible and probable" (187 Std/79 Pyth) threat.

Claims are made that Britain is to be the next target of ISIS terrorism along with Washington DC.
