From 1137 when CATALONIA was formed to 2017 is 880 years.

CATALONIA declared or confirmed their desire for independence on Friday 27^th October 2017 (day 300 with 65 days left in the year)

The Spanish government said that the Referendum was illegal, but a referendum is not an election so an ELECTION should be held which is what the Spanish government wants to declare. It is probable that the Spanish government would wish to keep the autonomous region of CATALONIA but questions should be raised as to why it had this status in the first place.
